The Planet Earth is in our hands. Let us help the Planet Earth to remain clean and free of global warming!

Preserve existing woods and forests, and contribute in reducing the GASEOUS GREENHOUSE with reduction of GLOBAL WARMING!

PROJECTS IN REDD - Avoided Deforestation

The system of Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD, its acronym in English). The Native Forest Deforestation is responsible for about 35% of emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG), especially carbon dioxide(CO2) and methane (CH4), are derived from the clearing and burning of Native Forests.

Tropical Forests are also essential as water catchments and act as "lungs" of the planet to promote the exchange of carbon dioxide for oxygen in the air. Moreover, these spaces contain very rich ecosystems, of which many indigenous communities depend on. Paying for preservation would help combat global warming and protect the biodiversity of the planet.

GOALS:

The aim of Avoided Deforestation (REDD) is to pay to preserve forests. Payment through the sale of Avoided Deforestation (REDD) would reflect the amount of carbon stored in forests, or environmental costs arising from logging and cattle farming.

Understanding the project

The "Campaign Avoided Deforestation (REDD)" aims to work for nature conservation, helping to protect the last remaining natural areas in Brazil, as the Brazilian Amazon forest, because they have the potential to offset greenhouse gas emissions by phenomenon of global warming, as well as its importance for conservation of biological diversity.

To put this into practice, the campaign is to involve owners of well-preserved areas and help them to continue protecting them with financial support from individuals or legal entities, companies,donors, supporters, people interested in collaborating with the owners / occupants of areas where we did the projects Carbon Credit (CC) and avoided Deforestation (REDD), to be avoided indiscriminate deforestation, with huge losses to the environment where they are produced as greenhouse gases (GHG)emissions and consequent global warming, which we are about to meet this problem that is global, I'm doing my part, just missing your part in these projects..

Besides helping to combat climate change, keeping alive the wild areas that still exist itś an urgent need to protect our natural heritage, responsible for harboring numerous life forms of plants and animals, as well as, provide essential services to the environmental quality of human life water, energy, food, security against natural disasters, scientific discoveries, among many others.

Stock biomass

Studies and models developed to estimate biomass and carbonstocks in Amazon (Saatchi et al (2007), Soares-Filho et al (2006), Fearnside et al (1997)) attribute values ranging from 60 to over 200 tons of carbon per hectare stored in the form of living biomassin different types of vegetation native to the region.

To get to 100 tonnes per hectare, the trees were measured at 1.3m above the ground and circumference at breast height (CAP) was measured tree height and estimated weight of biomass per hectare (branches, leaves and roots), and also measured the litter (dead part) at 1.00 m x 1.00 m, where the dead leaves were takenfor weighing, thus stipulating the weight per 1 hectare, which has10.000m2.

* Weighing a square meter of dead biomass (litter) and multiplied by the area of 1 hectare.
* Measurement of the thickness of trees up to 1.3 m, circumference at the height of Peio (CAP) multiplied by the height of the tree.
Living biomass above soil
Leaves and twigs
Trunk
Underground biomass Roots
Serrated or dead biomass Leaves and dead branches
To avoid the emission of 100 tons of carbon you need to buy carbon credits 100 (REDD) that correspond to 1 (one) hectare of preserved forest.

Values

The value of the Avoided Deforestation (REDD) is being negotiated by:

* U.S. $ 6.50 (six dollars and fifty cents) per ton, while the value per hectare is U.S. $ 650.00 (six hundred and fifty U.S. dollars);

* £ 4.20 (four pounds sterling and twenty cents) per ton, while the value per hectare is £ 420.00 (four hundred and twenty pounds sterling);

* € 5.20 (five euros and twenty cents) per ton, while the value per hectare is € 520.00 (five hundred and twenty euros).

Even with very low prices per ton of carbon avoided, the social gain to reduce deforestation almost always exceeds the opportunity cost of land in strategic areas for forest conservation in the state of Amazonas.
